Let’s face it, we all have had the moment when we scrounge around our purses wishing we had a certain beauty item to get us through a specific situation or through the day. Personally, there are things that as a makeup artist and a modern woman I never leave home without. I’ve found that no matter what situation I find myself in, if I need a quick beauty pick me up or refresher these items are a must.

Lip balm: There are so many times that my lips feel either dry, dehydrated, irritated or lackluster. A good hydrating lip balm gives my lips the revival it so needs in these moments.

Lipstick or tinted lip product: Whether you like lipsticks, glosses, lip tints, etc. I find that if you find yourself needing a more polished look in a pinch, these products can take you from I just rolled out of bed to I’m ready to conquer the day. A great tinted lip product is a must have.

Concealer: So many times, I’ve found that my under eyes look dark and lackluster, as if I was an extra in a zombie film. I find popping on a bit of the right concealer under my eyes instantly refreshes my tired under eye area making them look rested, brighter and more youthful, which let’s face it, we all want to look more youthful.

Mascara: You have no idea how mascara can just instantly boost your look making your eyes look larger, more awake and rested and not to mention just prettier all together. Popping on a few coats from the base of your lashes and wiggling the mascara wand outward can really define your lashes. The right mascara can really create lovely definition to your natural lashes giving them volume and separation.

Bronzer and/or Blush: On more than one occasion when I feel pale or like my complexion is dull, I just pop on a bit of bronzer above the hollows of my cheeks and around my hairline on my forehead or I apply blush to the apples of my cheeks or if I have time, I do both to make my skin look more radiant and alive while giving it a natural looking glow. It helps me go from drab to fab in a NY minute.

Hand cream: I can’t emphasize how much carrying a good hydrating hand cream is so necessary for me. Living in a cold weather climate and being someone who has eczema, when my hands feel dry or irritated, I just apply some hand cream to soothe and hydrate them instantly so any tightness or irritation I’m experiencing goes away.

Personal hygiene wipes: Have you ever gone to a bathroom and to your utter dismay there’s no toilet paper? Then sheer panic sets in! I’ve been in that predicament way too many times that I always carry feminine wipes and or personal hygiene wipes to avoid a bathroom catastrophe, plus it helps refresh your nether regions especially on a busy day or hot summer day.
